An introduction to Wakshé Creative

Hello, and welcome to our den!

We are a family-oriented business, based in West Michigan, founded by Codie and Nora Grigsby.

For those who are curious, Codie is Native American and “wakshé” is Potawatomi for “fox.”

Creativity does not only refer to art, but to the embracing of ideas, new and old, and using one’s wisdom and experience to explore and learn. In too many ways to mention, the last few years have been a time of growth and exploration for us. Our intent is to continue on in that way; growing and exploring, using what we know to seek out a new life-balance for ourselves, while sharing our knowledge through our business.

Being a symbol of independence, intelligence, and good fortune, the fox seems like an excellent mascot for this endeavor.

    A bit about…

    Nora Grigsby

Having built a career in Customer Service / Customer Service Management, editing & writing has been something of a side hustle for many years. In 2019, I became a stay-at-home mom. As my daughter grows, I’ve been able to take advantage of opportunities I didn’t expect; expanding on my skills and education in writing and editing, as well as taking time to explore creative outlets.

Finding enjoyment in website design was a surprise, as was finding that my expertise as a CSR and as an editor comes in handy for this type of work.

Both experiences help me to understand what my clients are looking for and help them develop their words and ideas.

    Codie Grigsby

I started out as an “IT guy.” I have always been ambitious and entrepreneurial in spirit, with a deep desire to know how things work. When first attending college, I opened a small computer repair company in my hometown. I now hold degrees in Computer Information Systems and Public Administration. Since my first start-up, I have opened and managed multi-million dollar businesses. Most recently, I am proud of the work I’ve done in my community with my tribe (Gun Lake Band of Potawatomi) and with the Otsego Schools.

I also love using technology to create and am currently working on a Graphic Design degree.  Most importantly though, I am a full-time father and husband.
